  • Projects

Federal Aviation Administration PEGASAS: Rotorcraft Safety

Knowledge/Skills: Convolutional Networks, Deep Ensemble Architecture, Data Pipeline Development

About This Project: Since I was 14 years old, I have collaborated with FAA Flight Test Engineers on graduate-level research that aims to reduce aviation-related fatalities. I have developed AI algorithms that can accurately analyze video data from cockpit cameras and identify different flight parameters (visibility, airspeed, attitude) from flight gauges/outside scenes. These AI systems are an inexpensive solution for small helicopter pilots, who are often unable to participate in traditional Helicopter Flight Data Monitoring Programs due to resource & cost constraints.

How I Got This Opportunity? Because of my curiosity and thoughtful questions, I was invited to submit my resume for this graduate-level project. After seeing my drive and the immediate value I created in the first 2 months, I was hired as an intern and paid for 2 years.

    Redefining the Future of Healthcare

Knowledge/Skills: Large Language Model Training, Prompt Engineering, AWS Services (S3 Ingest Bucket, Data Lake Formation, RDS MySQL, etc.), Data Warehousing

About This project: At Moffitt Cancer Center, I worked on MINDS (Multimodal Integration of Oncology Data System). MINDS aims to provide greater analytical power to researchers for more precise, evidence-based care. With a cloud native architecture, MINDS is a scalable, patient-centric, and cost-effective metadata framework that integrates data from different sources and modalities (imaging, genomic, Electronic Health Records). I am one of the first authors for a technical paper about MINDS (publication pending in MDP Sensors Journal). In addition to MINDS, I have trained Large Language Models on thousands of medical abstracts to generate answers to clinical and biomedical questions. My current research focus is evaluating the safety, robustness, and reliability of AI Chatbots in answering patient questions.

How I Got This Opportunity? My academic background and success in the FAA projects landed me a paid internship at the Moffitt Cancer Center. I became the Youngest Member of the Cancer AI Multimodal Lab.

    Social Cyber Forensics Research

Knowledge/Skills: Forecast Modelling, Big Data Analytics, Open Source Intelligence Techniques

About This project: As a Network Contagion Research Institute Intern, I co-designed a multidisciplinary study focused on tracking market speculation & inauthentic activity of 18 FTX-backed cryptocurrencies. I analyzed social media chatter and cryptocurrency wallet movements with machine learning & forecast modeling. Findings were at the intersection of academia & industry and spotlighted at CNBC, NYT, and Princeton Plasma physics Lab.

How I Got This Opportunity? As a NJ Governor STEM Scholar, I was selected to apply to the NCRI’s Cyber Lab Internship due to my extensive experience in AI & analytics.

Innovative Approach to Modern Audio Encryption

Knowledge/Skills: Key Exchange Algorithm Development, Chaos Maps, Wavelet Transform

About This Project: In the age of propagating cyber attacks, the security of information exchange is crucial. I developed a novel audio encryption system that operates within the real-time latency threshold of 200 milliseconds. Unlike popular encryption methods, the proposed system leverages chaos theory to transmit audio signals in a more secure and efficient manner. The system is also compatible with weaker/older computer processors and can have out-of-the-box implementations in governmental intelligence organizations and remote work frameworks such as Zoom. I am a co-author of a paper that was published in IEEE and accepted into the MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference (URTC).

How I Got This Opportunity? This was my project at the Governor’s School of Engineering and Technology (GSET) where I received a full merit scholarship for research and academics. Top students from each high school in New Jersey are invited to apply to GSET.

    Github

    Power of Predictive Analysis

Knowledge/Skills: Predictive Modeling, Regression Analysis, Data Structures, Heroku

About This Project: I pitched and programmed “AI-19 Advisor”, an app that predicts an individual’s COVID-19 mortality risk based on demographic factors (age, race, location, gender). The app is powered by predictive algorithms, which analyze COVID-19 mortality data from the Center of Disease Control (CDC).

How I Got This Opportunity? After witnessing how COVID-19 ravaged global communities, I banded together with a few high school students to research open-source datasets. This led me to pitching “AI-19 Adviser”, which was released after a month of development.

    Github

    Physics Simulations

    Knowledge/Skills: Applied Math, VPython, QuickBasic

About This Project:Check out the simulations I created for my favorite calculus-based physics concepts. From the the classic “falling rod” problem to voltage maps, I felt intellectually challenged in my attempts to capture physics phenomena with derived formulas and bytes.

    Github

    The One-Stop-Shop Banking App

Knowledge/Skills: Agile Development, Backend Intergration, Java

About This Project: As Scrum Master, I led the ideation, development, and presentation of a Java app with 14 digital banking services (from loans to credit card accounts). I also conducted market research on the latest banking apps in the fintech space to identify opportunities for innovation.

How I Got This Opportunity? Every year, my APCSA teacher assigns a project that the whole class must collaboratively work on. In my year, I was the only sophomore among juniors and seniors but was elected by the class to be the Project Scrum Master.
